Born and raised in the southern part of Huron County, Jim served as CEO of United Communities Credit Union Limited (prior to the combination with Libro Financial). He has been actively involved in many community organizations in a number of communities during his career, and active in the Huron County community since his retirement. He was the founding Chair of the Huron County Economic Development Board and a founding member of the Huron Entrepreneur Fund, now a fund within the Foundation.
Jim and his wife Darlene live at St. Joseph (Municipality of Bluewater) and he has a consulting practice assisting local entrepreneurs with strategic planning and intergenerational business transfers.
