Local Grants, Lasting Impact

At the South Huron Grant Awards in May 2025, the 1st Exeter Scouts shared their experience attending
the Pacific Jamboree in Sooke, B.C. the previous year—an opportunity made possible through South
Huron Community Grants awarded in May 2024. The impact of this experience extends well beyond
the event itself, helping to develop troop members into well-rounded youth. Through leading
adventures, Scouts build self-confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and gain meaningful life
experiences that support their growth and success at every stage of life.

The South Huron Advisory Committee is now accepting grant applications, offering local organizations an opportunity to access funding for projects that strengthen and enhance South Huron’s vibrant communities.
Established in 2020, the South Huron Community Funds continue to grow through the generosity of the Municipality of South Huron, family funds, and individual donors. The funds provide small grants to support programs, events, and activities that directly benefit residents across South Huron.

“The need for funding for community projects continues to grow—locally and beyond,” says Laura Goulding, Chair of the South Huron Advisory Committee. “Competition can be steep, and applying can sometimes feel discouraging. What makes the South Huron Community Funds different is that we fund South Huron projects only, and decisions are made by local volunteers who live and work here. We look forward to receiving applications that reflect the people and needs of South Huron.”
