This agreement should be signed by all board members, volunteers, employees, and contractors before their involvement with the foundation.

All information about the Sunset Community Foundation (hereafter, referred to as “the Foundation”), the Foundation’s officers, directors, board members volunteers, employees, independent contractors, and any recipients of grants of the Foundation may acquire during their service is confidential (hereafter, such information is called “Confidential Information”).

The Confidential Information also includes personal issues relating to any of the Foundation’s officers, directors, board members, volunteers, employees, and independent contractors. Any such Confidential Information that you receive is intended to be used solely to further the mission of the Foundation.

You agree that you will not communicate any Confidential Information concerning the Foundation’s officers, directors, board members, volunteers, employees, independent contractors, or its grant recipients to third parties, unless you are expressly authorized to do so in writing by the Foundation’s Board Chair.

For example, you should not discuss or exchange written communications with third parties, any Confidential Information regarding the Foundation, or its officers, directors, board members, volunteers, employees, independent contractors, or its grant recipients with the media, family members, friends, or acquaintances.

You also agree to take reasonable steps to preserve the confidentiality of the information regarding the Foundation and its grant recipients to which you may have access. For example, you should not remove confidential information from the office of the Foundation or discuss the affairs of the Foundation in public places where such information may be overheard.

This agreement is a binding legal contract, and the Foundation will be entitled to enforce its provisions through legal actions to seek specific performance of the agreement or to recover any appropriate remedies, including monetary damages.

I have read and agree to the above statement of confidentiality as prescribed by the Foundation and understand that it is considered an addendum to any contract or agreement previously given and agreed upon with the Foundation.
