Why SCF

Community FoundationS
The funds that donors establish are pooled with other fund assets at a Community Foundation, offering significant economies of scale, which means lower investment fees, lower fund minimums, and lower administrative costs
Community Foundations of Canada (communityfoundations.ca) is a national network of Local Foundations created by and for urban and rural communities to provide lasting support for local priorities
Community Foundations are recognized sources of knowledge about local issues and are trusted for their ability to expertly manage donors’ funds
Community foundations are unlike other organizations that fund local charities, as they are more like a savings account, distributing grants from the creation of a pool of capital (endowment) which gives the funders’ gift more of a lasting impact
The income of the endowment fund gives back to the local community FOREVER.

By March 2021, the Huron Entrepreneur Fund was officially launched by a group of business leaders to support charitable activities in Huron County that foster new businesses and grow existing businesses
